	Komprachcice im Jahr 2002, das Dorf aus dem meine Vorfahren stammen. Die Strasse fuehrt noch mitten durchs Dorf. Im Zentrum befindet sich die Kirche. Entlang der Strasse die Bauernhaeuser, dahinter die Scheunen, Gaerten und Felder - alles noch wie im Mittelalter - aber, wie man rechts erkennen kann, bricht das neue Zeitalter unaufhaltsam heran:


	Komprachcice in the year 2002. This is the village where my ancestors come from. The street is in the middle of the village, the church is central. The farmer houses are along the street, behind the barns, gardens and fields - all like in the Middle Ages - but on the right you can see that the new age is coming.

Die Gemeinde Komprachcice, Kreis Opole, Oberschlesien, besteht heute aus neun Doerfern. Einzelne Doerfer wurden bereits vor 700 Jahren in kirchlichen Dokumenten erwaehnt. Das heutige Komprachcice ist die Villa Gumperti, ein Dorf, das 1302 erwaehnt wird und einem deutschen Ritter Namens Gumpert gehoerte. Es gibt allerdings keine Quellen ueber deren ersten Bewohner. Erst ab dem 17 Jahrhundert gibt es Erwaehnungen in (erhaltenen) Pfarrgemeindebuechern.

Today there are nine villages in the community Komprachcice, district Opole, Upper Silesia. Some of the villages are mentioned in church documents 700 years ago. Villa Gumperti, which is mentioned in the year 1302 and belong to a German knight, is Komprachcice of today. But there are no sources about the first people living there. The first mentions are in the (conserve) parish books from the 17-century.
